Check of a condition of tires and pressure in them, designation of tires and disks of wheels, rotation of wheels

On the tire S420 and S500 models with summer drawing of a protector it is authorized to apply only on disks from an easy alloy, the tire with winter drawing of a protector - on disks from an easy alloy and steel.

Depending on model and equipment tires and disks of the various sizes can be established. Disks have depth of a press fitting of 38 mm. Depth of a press fitting is a distance from the disk middle to a persistent surface of a wheel on a brake disk or a drum. Wheel bolts for steel and light-alloy wheels have the identical sizes.

At installation of light-alloy wheels of other producers bolts of other sizes can be demanded.

The equipment is improved. Can be so that for older models other values of pressure in tires are admissible. The sizes specified in documents to the car are defining.

At a sports manner of driving it is recommended to increase pressure in lobbies and back tires by 0.2 bar. At increase in pressure it is necessary to start with a base-line value for various conditions of loading.

Winter tires as a rule have pressure upon 0.2 bar higher than summer. It is necessary to consider recommendations of manufacturers of winter tires.

As winter tires have restriction till speed, in sight of the driver the plate with the indication of the maximum speed should be strengthened.

Regular check of a condition of tires will allow you to avoid the troubles connected with stops in a way because of the lowered wheel. Besides, such checks give valuable information on possible problems with a steering and a suspension bracket before emergence in them serious damages.

Recommendations

Always keep an exact manometer in the ware box. Indications of the manometers which have been built in nozzles of air hoses at stations of service, often happen inexact.

Always check pressure on cold tires (i.e. to a trip on the car). If to check pressure on the warm or warmed-up tires, it will lead to overestimate of indications of a manometer because of thermal expansion of tires. Check of pressure of air in tires

Check of pressure of air should be carried out only on cold tires.

Unscrew a gate cap.

Pressure of air in tires is checked once a month, and also at carrying out service (including spare a wheel). At check use a special manometer, or the manometer which has been built in the compressor.

It is not necessary to trust indications of the manometers which have been built in nozzles of compressors, tires used for pumping at petrol filling stations.

Besides, pressure of air are necessary for checking before each long trip since temperature load of tires in this case increases.

Necessary pressure of air in tires is given on a sticker being on inside of a cover of a fuel tank.

At use of winter tires pressure of air should be increased by 0.2 bar in relation to the established value.

Pressure of air of narrow tires of a spare wheel is specified on боковине a disk. Pressure of air in tires changes depending on change of temperature of air on 10°С approximately on 0.1 bar. Values of pressure of air in the tires, given for small loading of the car, are the minimum values providing comfort of movement. Apply only firm bolts of fastening «MB» designated by a star of "Mercedes-Benz". Other bolts can unscrew.

Spare wheel of the facilitated design

At tire damage the spare wheel of the facilitated design can be used as a normal wheel; it is recommended to replace as soon as possible, however, it with a normal wheel as it is calculated on limited run to 20 000 km.

At replacement of tires the tire of a spare wheel can be mounted on the driving wheel if the tire corresponds to execution of tires of driving wheels. If the tire is more senior than 6 years, it is recommended to be applied only at tire damage.

Models with tires of the size 245/45R18

If the spare wheel of the facilitated design is mounted, owing to the various sizes of tires it is necessary to reckon with change dynamic property of the car. Conform style of driving to a road situation.

As soon as possible replace a spare wheel of the facilitated design with a usual wheel.

Models with an AMG firm complete set
